I appreciate the recognition of the past as being "crucial" and "important"... your relationship with the project could go a step further by formulating Why & How architecture can/will uphold the sanctity of ancient culture, customs, practices, whilst furthering modern medical procedures.
The 'Why' is arguably more theoretical and based in an understanding of the social conditions. The 'How' is likely to focus on practicalities of the architectonics... the translation of social understanding into physical accommodation and manipulation.
